STORYTELLING ALL THE WAY DOWN.

I strive to create fashion that respects my identities, and how they shift across the world.
I was born in Lima, Peru, on the hottest day of 2003. My family says this informs my passion for design- I seek to push the design envelope my way. With 4+ years of experience in professional hand-drawn illustration work at private and public levels; I have expanded my skill set by becoming proficient in technical packs, patternmaking, and digital illustration work. Humbly, I can also boast of 2+ years of experience in draping work, fine sewing, and embroidery. Despite this, I plan to refine her work further- Her hard work yielded $30,500 in undergrad scholarships. Recently, I was also given an Undergraduate Research Grant to conduct research on fashion Designer Oleg Cassini.
When I immigrated to the United States at 9 years old, my first attempt at connection with the American public was through art. In my eyes, color and print are vibrant, wordless stories, able to transcend language and ideology. My passion for the creative arts allowed me to bridge the Peruvian-American culture gap, and after years of observing and connecting, my passion ultimately led her to a BFA in Fashion Design at VCU School of the Arts.
Big themes in my work, such as heritage, love, tradition, and connection, allow me to delve deeply into various design outlets from apparel to textile to costume. I am a multifaceted artist who approaches design with a fresh perspective, incorporating my lived experiences throughout whatever I undertake- No matter what happens, there is always a great solution.
I expect to graduate with a BFA in Fashion Design and a Minor in Political Science in May 2025.
